NEW LOCATION: Temple Mall, 3111 S 31st Street, Temple, Texas
*Our NEW practice and performance space is located in Temple Mall next to Xtreme Jump. The closest entrance is by Cotton Patch Cafe or through Xtreme Jump. All of our weekly rehearsals take place here. Our dress rehearsals and productions will all take place in the newly renovated Arcadia Theatre in downtown Temple (near the public library).
Safety Procedures: Your children's safety is our number one priority. All participants under 12 must be walked to the studio door by someone Over 12 and signed in for the day. There will be a staff member at the door with the list. We have our own bathroom within the studio so that participants will not need to leave our space at any time.
Participants under 12 (and anyone else whose parents request this) must be signed out at the door (by someone approved to pick them up).
Please Bring: waterbottle, scripts/sheet music
Please Wear: comfortable shoes and clothes to move in (shorts, leggings, etc.)
School Year Season (September-May):
Senior Program (ages10+): We meet weekly, Thursdays 6-8pm to rehearse for a main stage musical production. In addition to our main stage production in May, we will produce a fall Spotlight showcase before the holidays.
Junior Program (kinder- 10 years old): We meet weekly, Thursdays 5-6pm to learn musical theatre basics and to rehearse for a musical showcase in the fall, and another production in May.
During rehearsals participants play theatre games, learn music, receive vocal training, practice choreography, develop characters, and act out scenes in preparation for their performance. They receive instruction regarding acting techniques such as projection, diction, movement, expression, as well as vocal coaching.
MDT Starter Program (4-6 years old):
Participants learn the basics of dancing, singing, and acting through fun theatre games and activities. They will learn a small song and dance to perform at the end of the semester.
In each program we encourage each other to try new things, share talents, and perform with confidence!
